Ladner Elementary School and Parent Advisory Committee received a whopping $20,000 donation from RSS IT Systems, who relocated to the Ladner Community just last year. This very generous donation was the final sum that carried the project over the fundraising goal line.
RSS IT Systems, is a corporate label expert, specialising in printing software, hardware installation and equipment servicing. They relocated their office to Ladner in October 2021 and have had such a positive, welcoming experience from the community that they wanted to give back in a way that was meaningful.
“When RSS IT Systems relocated [..], it was the Ladner community who embraced us and made us feel like our family had grown. It is an honor to be able to give back to a community that has given us so much,” said owner Chris Fraczek. “We cannot wait to see the completed project, and we especially cannot wait to see the kid’s smiling faces as they enjoy their new, well-deserved outdoor space.”
The parents and children of Ladner Elementary are tremendously grateful for this thoughtful donation from RSS IT Solutions. It allowed us to start construction this past October and we are hopeful the project will be finished by Spring 2023!
Ladner Elementary School and the Delta School District are excited to
announce that they have received a $10,000 donation from Applewood Nissan Richmond and
the Applewood Auto Group to support revitalization of the school’s playground and outdoor
learning spaces.

“As an Applewood Auto Group dealership, we are committed to giving back to our local
communities and already support many great causes, including Autism BC and the BC Children’s Hospital,” said Leon Cheliadin, General Manager at Applewood Nissan Richmond and Applewood Richmond Infiniti. “We have a large customer base in Ladner who buy and service their vehicles with us, and so we wanted to do something that would specifically benefit the Ladner community. I live in Ladner, so when I heard about the Parent Advisory Committee’s playground fundraising efforts, it seemed the perfect initiative for us to support. This has been a difficult year for many in our community and we hope to continue supporting the school and other community groups in the area in 2021 and beyond.”

Ladner Elementary Parent Advisory Council (PAC) has been working on a new playground
design that adds all-inclusive elements to the playground, brings a naturalized, park-like feel to the grounds and creates more learning spaces including an outdoor classroom, expanded
garden area and wooden benches for seating.

“The current playground structures are aging rapidly and will need to be removed soon, so this donation could not have come at a better time. We are extremely grateful to Applewood Nissan Richmond for their support,” said Principal Cheryl Edge-Partington.

“Our committee has recently started to really ramp up its fundraising efforts,” said Tyla
Langdon, parent and PAC Playground Committee Chair. “Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we’ve had to cancel many of our usual fundraising initiatives, so we are really excited to receive this generous donation from Leon and Applewood Nissan Richmond. Their support gets us that much closer to our goal of building a new playground that can be enjoyed by the community for many years to come.”

The Playground committee received another amazing donation of $5000 this past week from the Schaeffers Family.
When asked why they felt compelled to make such a generous donation Catherine Schaeffers said she and her husband felt it is important to contribute to the playground fundraiser as the current playground is not in good condition. “Not only is this important for the school, but for the entire community of kids who play at the playground on weekends and in the summer. It will be so wonderful for the kids to all have a new and functional playground”
Their oldest child is in grade one and youngest will be attending Kindergarten in the fall.  We are so thankful to have such caring families in our community. Thank you Schaeffers for this generous donation!

Neighbourhood Plumbing & Heating, a family run local company, has generously donated $5000 to support the revitalization of Ladner Elementary School’s playground and outdoor learning spaces.
“We have two children who attend Ladner Elementary so we are happy to support the school,” said owner Kirby Reid. “We are proud to live and raise our children in Ladner so supporting community organizations that better our community is something we try to do as much as possible.”
With the recent success of our online Auction, past donations and fundraisers, we are almost at our $200,000 fundraising goal.  “We have high hopes for our fundraising efforts next fall, and if all goes well, hope to break ground in Spring of 2022,” said Tyla Langdon, parent and PAC Playground Committee Chair.

We are very excited to announce that Chambers Olsen LTD Insurance Brokers have kindly donated $5,000.00 to the Playground Project! The company is based in Vancouver but is run by a long-time Ladner family whose granddaughter attends Ladner Elementary in the same program her mother was in. This multi-generational Ladner Elementary family has been an outstanding contributor to the Playground Project and has brought us even closer to our goal. David Chambers said, "My youngest daughter attended Ladner Elementary and now my grandchildren attend. I want them to have the best experience and flourish through play with an upgraded playground, which is much needed. Chambers Olson are happy to help make this happen." Thank you, Chambers Olsen LTD. This project would not a reality without the support of community members just like you!
